More than 100 animals were rescued from Hurricane Ida in Louisiana. They were taken from a New Orleans animal rescue and flown to Cincinnati, Ohio after their shelter lost power and was at risk of flooding.
Dozens of volunteers made the last-minute rescue possible, driving 130 dogs, cats, and rabbits to the airport.
The animals are currently at SPCA Cincinnati and will be available for adoption at the end of September.
The evacuation was paid for by Wings of Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to getting animals out of natural disasters.
Wings of Rescue has already completed 77 flights this year alone, moving 4,637 dogs, 1,707 cats, 16 rabbits and seven guinea pigs.
